Cavalry
cavalry.scenegroup.coCavalry is a procedural 2D animation tool built by former Mainframe studio veterans in Manchester. Instead of keyframing everything manually, you connect nodes to define repeating behaviors — making it ideal for data-driven motion, generative art, and complex animation at scale. Used by Apple, Canva, Google, Nike, and Buck. Acquired by Canva in February 2026 and made completely free for individuals, including commercial use — no feature restrictions, just a free Canva account required. Studios and enterprise teams need a paid Canva license. The Web Player lets designers publish parametric Cavalry compositions to the browser as custom-skinned tools, exposing only the variables they choose via HTML/CSS interfaces. Non-designers get an on-brand asset generator accessible from a URL, with no Cavalry install required.
